About Beer Pong Britain

For those unfamiliar with beer pong, its origins lie in the USA, and that’s where we discovered it – in New York to be precise, in August 2008. Strolling into a bar, we noticed a strange-looking drinking game – involving throwing balls into cups of beer – being keenly contested. We ventured over, and after a nod from the locals and patiently waiting our turn, we proceeded to, for want of a better expression, ‘whup some Yank ass’. Stumbling onto the streets in the early hours we knew, like modern-day Sir Walter Raleighs, we had made a fantastic discovery. We had to bring beer pong back to the UK.

And so we did. Initially we introduced beer pong to our friends, then we started playing at parties and BBQs. Encouraged by the participants’ enthusiasm, in August 2009 we officially launched Beer Pong Britain at London’s Barrcauda Bar. Since then we’ve been staggered by the interest, so much so that we now have grand plans for regular events in London and tournaments throughout the UK.

In January 2010 three of Beer Pong Britain’s founding members will be heading to Las Vegas for the World Series of Beer Pong. We are the first non-North Americans to participate in the event and with a $50,000 prize as motivation, we’ll be doing our utmost to put Beer Pong Britain firmly on the map… and teach the Yanks another lesson in their own backyard.
